Brothers

Everyone always talks about how fun it is to dress sisters in matching outfits and I really hope our next (and last) kid is a girl, so I can experience that. But I'm learning it's pretty fun to dress brothers in matching outfits!

It's also a lot of fun to dress Logan in clothes Corbyn wore as a baby.

I took Logan's 3 month pictures in the same outfit as Corbyn's 3 month pictures (and on the same blanket too). Logan is Corbyn's twin with red hair! It's crazy how much they look alike!

And here's Peyton at 3 months... Pretty much just a girl version of the same baby.

Father's Day

Rog had his regular Sunday morning meetings on Father's Day because they hadn't met for awhile with the Payson temple dedication and other things they had going on. I made him cinnamon rolls the night before and was disappointed to find that he didn't have one before he left for his meeting at 6:30. He came home for a few minutes between his meetings and church and had one then.

We had him open his presents when he got home from counting tithing after church. We got him a BYU tie and a picture collage of the kids holding letters to spell out DAD.  

Diana, Jared, and I collaborated again to put together a present for my dad. We gave him treats containing the word, "pop" - Popcorn, Pop Tarts, Pop Rocks, Soda Pop and a Ring Pop.

And I made a little tag that said, "Happy Father's Day to The Best POP Ever!"

For dinner we had Maple-Glazed Pork Tenderloin (Rog's choice) with Crispy Cheesy Potato Cups and for dessert we had Peanut Butter Cookie Bars (my dad's choice).

I couldn't have asked for a better dad for my kids and my dad always has been there for me. I'm glad we could take a day to celebrate them!

Five on Friday

1. On Tuesday I woke up to find that my phone said, No Service. I turned it off and on (which normally fixes the problem when that happens), but it still said, No Service. Hours later I finally made it over to AT&T and it's a long story, but apparently some genius at Customer Support had scheduled my phone number to be disconnected at the end of the month. (I had called at the beginning of the month about something else and they completely misunderstood my request.) It was a quick enough fix, but pretty annoying.

2. Logan has had a bit of a stuffy nose and a cough for a little over a week. On Tuesday he got a slight fever and was acting more tired/fussy than normal. With my phone issue I couldn't call to schedule an appointment, so I just kept a close eye on him. He was the same the next day, so I took him in. I'm glad I did because he had an ear infection! He's been great about letting me give him his medicine and is doing much better now. He likes to hold onto the dropper when I'm giving his medicine to him and then play with it for a few minutes after! 

3. On Wednesday we had dinner with my parents at Pizza Pie Cafe before they went to Oregon to visit Jared and Cailey for the holiday weekend. Peyton ate and ate and ate and ate like I hadn't fed her all day or something! When we got home she said her tummy hurt, but luckily she didn't throw up or anything. 

4. The Goodrichs came down from Heber to go to the splash pad yesterday, so we met them there. Corbyn and Peyton mostly just played together rather than playing with Stockton and Brynn (stinkers), but I had the best time talking to Megan! 

We hung out under her big umbrella with the babies and sweated it out, but at least we were protected from the sun. Logan was still not feeling his best, so we couldn't get a smile out of him. Here he is with Ivy who is 2 months older than him.

5. It's been consistently over 100 degrees here (and only a couple degrees cooler than St. George instead of the normal 10 degrees cooler). The only way to beat the heat is to play in the water. Wednesday was Seven Peaks, Thursday was the splash pad, and today was the Spanish Fork pool. (In this picture Corbyn had just gotten sunscreen in his eyes and thought he was going to die.)

Corbyn's Birthday: Family Party

I did a Lego theme for Corbyn's family party - mostly so I could use the cute ideas I found on Pinterest that I didn't want to do for his friend party (because let's be honest, a bunch of 3-6 year olds wouldn't have appreciated them, but the adults did).

Rog put together this Lego silverware holder for me. 

I used the banner I made for his friend party again, but put the 3 strings together and hung it in a better spot.

This Lego door came together in like 5 minutes. It was super fun - just a plastic tablecloth and paper plates.

For dinner we had hot dogs with homemade buns (because I can't eat the buns from the store anymore now that I know how much better the homemade ones taste)...

Jello Jigglers (in red, orange, yellow, green, and blue)...

Watermelon, chips...

And IBC Root Beer (so much more fun drinking root beer from the old fashioned bottles and only $.41 a bottle when you buy them at Costco).

For dessert we had dipped Oreos (Corbyn's favorite)...

And a Lego cake with edible Legos. (It's been awhile since I decorated a cake. I'd almost forgotten how much I love doing it!)

Corbyn organized his presents by type - Transformers, Avengers, and Batman.

It was a fun party. Thanks to all our family who came to help us celebrate our Corbyn boy!

Birthday Pictures

Like last year I had the kids' birthday pictures taken in between Peyton and Corbyn's birthdays at CheapShots Photography. And while we were at it, we took some of Logan and the 3 of them together. 

First up, our handsome Corbyn...

Pretty sure this is the first time he has ever let a photographer pose him.

Next up, our beautiful Peyton... She looks so grown up in these!

And our little Logan man... He would not smile for the strange lady taking his picture.

But when I was changing him into his outfit for the pictures of the 3 of them together he was smiling for me.

I don't love this one, but it's the best we got of the 3 of them together.

I almost like this more candid one better. 

I realized after we left that I should have had her take some of Corbyn and Peyton, Corbyn and Logan, and Peyton and Logan. I'll have to remember that for next year! 

Overall I'm so happy with how they turned out. We sure love these crazy, cute kids!

Seven on Sunday

1. Tuesday afternoon we went to see Inside Out. It was $5 Tuesday at Cinemark and we were dying to see it. It was cute and fun, but also pretty insightful. We loved it!

2. On Wednesday after spending a couple hours at Seven Peaks we went to the BYU Bookstore, so I could buy a dress I saw when we were there on Corbyn's birthday that I couldn't stop thinking about. While we were there Corbyn saw this BYU football Lego set and clearly it was something we could not live without! (You can't tell in this picture, but the last mini figure on the right is Cosmo!)

3. Corbyn learned to ride his bike without training wheels this week. He has great balance on his scooter, so I thought he might be able to do it and I was right. We just took off his training wheels and away he went! So proud of this big boy!

4. Saturday morning was the Grand Opening of the Spanish Fork River Trail. Corbyn rode his scooter, Peyton rode her bike, and I pushed Logan in the stroller 4.5 miles of the trail. Grandma and Grandpa came with us and rode their bikes as well. (Rog was volunteering at the American Fork Half Marathon as part of his internship.) We collected stamps along the way and at the end we got hot dogs, wristbands, water bottles, tail lights, and t-shirts. We also won a $50 gift card to an athletic store here in Spanish Fork, roller blades (that we will return because they don't fit any of us), and a helmet. It was such a fun event and I was so proud of the kids for making it the whole way!

5. When we got home from the grand opening, we ran through the caterpillar sprinkler to cool off. And then for dinner we grilled Asian BBQ Chicken Pizza. It was a pretty perfect summer day.

6. We have baby giggles!

7. We finally finished this Beauty and the Beast Thomas Kinkade puzzle. We have been working on it sporadically for over a year now. It has 750 pieces and was much more difficult than you'd think. One of my goals for the year was to finish 3 puzzles, so we'd better be a lot quicker doing our next 2 puzzles.

3 Months

Logan turned 3 months on June 18th. 

Logan at 3 months:

*Holds his head up very well.

*Loves to stand. He gets the biggest smile and is so proud of himself!

*Loves when we do the "Choo Choo Train" with his legs. (I'll have to take a video because it's hard to explain.)

*Squeals with delight.

*Brings his hands together.

*Is starting to play with toys that are in front of him.

*At night he usually wakes up about 6 hours after I put him to bed and then every 3 hours after that to eat.

*Is easy to put down for naps if I get him right when he's the perfect amount of tired. If I wait too long and he gets too tired, it's much more difficult. 

*Usually takes quick, power naps that are only 10-20 minutes long in his crib. His afternoon naps are typically a bit longer and if I'm desperate he'll nap longer in the swing.

*Has great endurance for crying when I try to make him cry it out.

*Sucks on his hand.

*Has the best smile - I like to call him Mr. Smiles.

*Just started wearing 3-6 month clothes - although some of his 3-6 month shorts are pretty long, so he's still wearing some of his 0-3 month shorts.

I feel like I spent the whole day taking pictures of him trying to get the perfect 3 month picture. I got a lot of cute pictures, but I never got that one perfect picture.

And now for some random pictures from the last month...

One day he had a blowout soon after Rog got home from work. Rog took him up to his room to change him and when he brought him back down, he realized he had dressed him in basically the same outfit I was wearing. 

He loves being able to sit up by himself in the Bumbo.

And he loves being able to stand by himself in the Jumperoo.

I never would have let Corbyn sleep like this on our bed... He must be the 3rd child.

It's so fun hearing him play with his car seat toy while I'm driving.

The other day I was telling Peyton she used to play with this toy when she was a baby and Corbyn asked if he did too. I had to tell him he didn't because I didn't know these toys existed when he was a baby. He was so sad!

He's growing up so fast! It's fun to watch him learn new things, but also sad to see the newborn stage go so soon!
