We started Logan's birthday with presents (even though Logan had no idea what was going on) because Corbyn and Peyton were dying to see what he got. He got a Zoo Puzzle (want)...
a Mickey Umbrella Stroller (need)...
a Puppy Towel (wear)...
and Tickle Time! (read).
For breakfast we had Banana Zucchini Muffins that I made the day before. We took a couple birthday pictures.
And then pretty much the rest of the day was spent getting ready for his party.
Since Easter was in March, I was going to be taking down the St. Patrick's Day decorations to decorate for Easter anyway. So I decided to get out some of the BYU football decorations for the day. I also brought down some of the decorations from his room and had some pictures of him in his BYU attire printed at Costco.
I wish I could go back in time and make the 1 balloon face the right direction for this picture!
I saw a lot of ticket invitations on Pinterest and took elements from each to make this one.
For drinks we had water, Cougar Blue Punch, and Football Juice Boxes.
For food we had Stadium Pulled Pork Sandwiches (with coleslaw from KFC and homemade buns), chips, Cougar Mac & Cheese Bites...
Cosmo Fruit Kabobs (with pineapple chunks, grapes, strawberries, and blueberries), Penalty Pretzels (pretzels with melted Rolos and M&M's on top), Apple Turnovers (followed that recipe except I just used a can of apple pie filling), and National Championship Rings (Ring Pops).
I made a Concessions sign to tie it all together.
After everyone ate Logan opened some more presents. Grandma Dixie and Grandpa Mike had sent some Little People Zoo Animals to go with the zoo they got him for Christmas. The hippo and the giraffe (and the elephant that came with the original set) make noises and the whole set is so fun!
He got some Toy Story Tsum Tsums (Buzz, Woody, a Green Alien, and Ham) from Grandma Lori and Papa George (as well as a water table that we will put together when we move to Oregon - we decided to get rid of our old water table since they have ones that are much more fun now).
Also Tay and Martha got him a Roller Blocks Tumblin' Zebra.
Then we stripped him down and got him ready for the main event - the smash cake!
I made a blue football smash cake for Logan (with a football candle from Walmart) and cupcakes with gummy footballs on top for everyone else. I saw this tutorial for making a football-shaped cake before Logan was even born and since then I knew I was going to have a football party and make a football cake for his 1st birthday!
He wasn't too sure at first...
But when we got him to really dig in, he gave us an awesome show - definitely the best of our 3 kids!
Bring me another Smurf!!
It was a fun day celebrating our big 1 year old!
