Just in case anyone was losing sleep over this!

All better! And the midget number 3 even sold on half.com. Hopefully whoever bought it doesn't give me bad feedback for it being short.

So proud

of my cute little bunches! Today he found out that he will be working as a supervisor in the APX Warehouse! It isn't official because they are still waiting on approval from corporate to hire, but they basically said that when they get the approval, they will be hiring him! It's such a relief to know he will have a job this summer and next school year! And it's a job in his field. And it's at APX... Too bad the warehouse moved from the corporate building (where I work) to a warehouse in Orem.

He's so cute, who wouldn't hire him?! I mean seriously!

Anyone see a problem here?

I decided I was going to use some of my birthday money to finish my collection of Harry Potter. About once a year I get an itch to read the series again, so I figured I should own all of them. I only had the last one, so I was going to buy the set of all seven and then try to sell my copy of the seventh, but Brian (fellow staff accountant) convinced me to buy them individually from half.com because it would be much cheaper. He was right. I got all six of these for $62.04....

But please tell me that having number 3 be an inch shorter than the rest would bug someone else too. I know you're out there and I'm not crazy for thinking this. So a new number 3 is on it's way as we speak and my number 3 is again for sale on half.com along with the paperback copy of number 4 I already had. Hopefully they will both sell quickly, so I can make up the money I had to spend to buy number 3 twice. Oh the joys of being a perfectionist!

Finally finished!

I started this little quilt last summer and I finally finished it last night!! I made it from a shirt (the green squares) and pajamas (the blue squares). The shirt was getting too small (I got it when I was about 10) and the pajamas were getting worn out. But I loved them so much and I couldn't stand the thought of throwing them away, so I decided to make them into a quilt. It will probably end up hanging in our nursery when we have one because it is too small to wrap a baby in. (No, this is not my announcement that I am pregnant. I'M NOT!)

I am so grateful for Emily's mom, Marie Galbraith, for helping me do the binding. Without her, I NEVER would have been able to finish this project! THANK YOU!!!

Lucas

Last Tuesday Rog and I got to babysit the cutest baby ever, Lucas Perez! He is only 11 months old, but he has this walking thing down. We took him outside because it was a nice night. It was so fun to watch him walk around and play with his little soccer ball. He is such a happy baby, so that made it nice. He didn't cry until about 9:00 when he got tired, so we just put him to bed. I hope we get a happy baby like him!

P.S. If any of you mothers out there need a babysitter, I am more than happy to do so. I work 9-5, but most nights are wide open.

Oh BYU Basketball...

We weren't totally into basketball this year. We only went to one game (I know, I should be ashamed of myself).

At work last Thursday I listened to the first game of the Mountain West Tournament with my coworkers. Then Friday night Rog and I didn't have any plans, so we went to Legend's Grill to watch the second game. It was a close game, but we ended up losing to San Diego State who then went on to lose to Utah. That was too bad because the only thing worse than BYU losing is Utah winning...

Today was the first game of the NCAA Tournament and BYU fans everywhere had high hopes that this would be the first year in a long time that BYU would make it past the first round. Thanks to CBS.com the staff accountants of APX were able to watch the game on my computer (of course while working during the commercials). Texas A&M played an amazing game and totally killed us. Even though I was a crappy basketball fan this year, it was still a huge disappointment. My friend Bri Baby described it best when he said, "It feels like I just broke up with a girl."

Better luck next year Cougs. I still love you!

Kiss me I'm Irish!

Happy St. Patrick's day from Chief and Rog the leprachan!

Yes, I am wearing my National Honor Society shirt from Hillcrest. Don't judge me, I somehow wore all my other green shirts last week. It was either this one or a cheer one and Rog said this one was better because it was all green and the cheer one was white with green on it. GO HUSKIES! Haha...

If I see you and you aren't wearing green today, I am so pinching you!

Adult Sippy Cup

Back in September I was banned from having water on my nightstand (click here for the full story). Well I am happy to announce that "the ban" is over thanks to my new adult sippy cup aka Camelbak's Better Bottle!

The best part of the whole thing... I didn't pay a penny! How did I do that? The answer: msn's frequent shopper program. Basically you just had to play some games and earn points (up to 100 a day) and then redeem those points for cool stuff like this water bottle. Unfortunately the program was canceled a few weeks after we found it (I wonder why?!). But while it lasted it gave me and my fellow staff accountants a much needed short break and we got cool stuff for free!

That being said, I would recommend this water bottle to anyone even if it wasn't free. You can find out more about it here (click on sports - recreation, then bottles, then better bottle).

Birthday Weekend

My birthday was Thursday, but the celebration lasted all weekend and actually started Wednesday night! Wednesday night we went to Baskin Robbins to get my free ice cream scoop.

Thursday morning the first thing I did was open Rog's gift. He ordered it way back in January and I was dying to know what it was. He had 2008 of our blog printed and made into a book! What a great gift and what a thoughtful husband I have!!

We went to breakfast at Kneaders for their yummy french toast. At work my coworkers spoiled me with cupcakes and oatmeal fudge bars. And at lunch, practically the whole accounting department showed up in my office to sing me happy birthday! For dinner we had stew and then I watched Wedding Date and scrapbooked for the rest of the night.

On Friday we had planned to see Bolt in the dollar theatre and then go to Cold Stone for my free ice cream. But Rog convinced me to go to Cold Stone first and sneak our ice creams into the movie. I wasn't very happy about this, but I went along with it. After the movie, Rog made a mysterious call to "his mom" telling her he would be home in 10 minutes and then he would "email her a paper she needed." I totally fell for his lies and was SHOCKED when I walked into our apartment to find streamers and a whole group of my friends for a surprise party.

Emily made a beautiful cake and everyone took turns rocking out on Rockband. I was happy that so many of our friends would come to wish me a happy birthday. Thank you to everyone who came and made it a wonderful party! And a special thank you to Rog and Emily for putting the whole thing together! Oh and to Diana and Jason for decorating our apartment.... the decorations are still up! Haha!

On Saturday we started the morning with a 6 mile run (we're training for the Salt Lake City Half Marathon on April 18). Then Emily and I got together and crafted the afternoon away (see my Spring post from Sunday). We drove up to Murray to go to the Cheesecake Factory with Emily and Zack. It was a long wait, but it was definitely worth it! Rog and I both ordered a fabulous salad and then shared an oreo cheesecake for dessert.

After dinner we went to Emily's parent's house and caught the end of the BYU basketball game. BYU won and sealed the deal on a three-way tie for the Mountain West Championship. Then Emily's wonderful mom taught me how to sew the binding on the quilt I have been working on (post to come as soon as I finish it). We were going to play games, but the night was cut short due to Daylight Savings Time!

I had a wonderful weekend!! Thank you to everyone who made my birthday so special! I guess turning 23 wasn't so bad... Other than the fact that Blink says, "Nobody likes you when you're 23!" If that's the case, this really could be a long year. :)

23 tomorrow...

I've never really felt old before... that is until I started contemplating turning 23. I've been trying to figure out what it is about turning 23 that makes me feel old and I think I finally have the answer.

You know how in high school they were always asking, "Where do you want to be in 5 years?" Or, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" My answer to those questions was always married, graduated from college, working as an accountant... DONE, DONE, DONE... I guess I never really looked too much past 23. And now that I'm here and I've done all those things, I feel OLD!

Of course I still have lots to do... So bring on 23!

St. George Weekend

This weekend we went down to St. George. The primary purpose for our trip was for Rog to fix our car, but it also happened to be the half-way point between my brother's birthday and my birthday (his is February 22nd and mine is March 5).

We drove down Friday with Diana and Jason and met my family at Olive Garden for dinner. Then we had a French Silk pie from Village Inn for my birthday cake and my mom gave me my presents. She got me the two games I have been wanting (For Sale and Chicken Foot) and some money that I am going to use to finish my collection of the Harry Potter books. I insisted on having a 2 candle and a 3 candle for my pie because I decided if you're going to be that old, you might as well be proud of it. (I know it's not that old, but seriously it's the first year I have felt old.)

Fred, our car, has been sick for a few weeks now. He needed a new radiator, a new water pump, and a new timing belt while we were at it. Rog hung out with his dad and grandpa all day Saturday working on it. They were able to fix the radiator without any problems, but they would have had to practically take out the whole engine to do the water pump and timing belt. So we're going to watch those and eventually pay to have them replaced. My dad said that he was just impressed Rog could take the car apart and then put it back together and have it still drive. I agree! He's so talented!

While Rog was fixing the car, I had a busy day goofing off. I started the morning with a 4.5 mile run. Then I went golfing with my mom and dad. Because there was only 3 of us, we got paired with a random guy. I had never golfed with a stranger, so I was a little scared until we discovered he was my cheer coach/dance company instructor's husband. Small world!

After golf I had Roger's grandpa help me cut and sand some wood for a project I am working on. Stay tuned for the finished product... Thank you Grandpa Phillips for your help!!

We went to dinner at Village Inn with Roger's family and then stayed up late playing my new games with my family. We had a great weekend!
