Logan's Birthday: Party

As Logan's birthday approached, he was very much into Toy Story, so I knew he'd love a Toy Story birthday. It was fun looking back at the Toy Story party I threw for Corbyn when he turned 2 and adding to the Pinterest board I made all those years ago.

Logan's birthday was on a Sunday this year. Since I still like to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, I decided we'd have a little party for him on Friday and keep Saturday free for all the green things. Rather than doing a party with just his friends, I invited a few families that have kids his age for a dinner party.

I had to buy plates, but I had some leftover napkins from Corbyn's party. (Not enough for everyone, so I got out a rainbow of napkin colors from my stash to supplement them.)

I decorated with Toy Story toys we had (and also used a few toys Logan was getting from Grandma Lori for his birthday). I came across a picture of army men climbing up to the food on Pinterest and had to include that in the decorations.

We had Slinky Dogs for the main course.

(Somehow I didn't get a picture of them, but they were just regular hot dogs.)

We also had Rex's Veggie Sticks...

Little Green Men Jello (green apple and lime varieties)...

and Potato Head Chips.

We had Space Ranger Fuel for drinks.

I found a printable for Buzz water bottle labels somewhere and adapted them a little to be just what I wanted. I flavored some with Grape Kool-Aid Singles, some with Green Berry Rush Hawaiian Punch Singles, and left some as water.

For dessert we had Jessie's Hat Cookies and Woody's Badge Cookies.

As well as Buzz's Moon Rock Candy.

These were a big hit with the kids!

I found the ideas for the food on various blogs (by searching Toy Story food on Pinterest) and I made my own food label tags.

I decided to save cake for his actual birthday, but then it felt weird not singing to him and not having him blow out candles at his party.

I didn't plan any games, but did a photo booth with Toy Story props printed from here. I also got out Peyton's Jessie hat and Logan's Buzz hat and gloves from his Buzz Halloween costume.

For the frame I bought a white foam poster board, cut out the middle with an X-Acto knife, painted it red, cut two white circles out of the leftover foam from the middle, and cut out the Etch a Sketch logo using my Silhouette. My friend, Tracy, let me have a scrap of gold vinyl, so I didn't have to buy a whole sheet for the little bit I needed. 

I hung up a blue tablecloth for the background (and tried to get the wrinkles out of it by blow drying it - this only kind of worked). I also cut out some clouds on my Silhouette to make it look like Andy's room in the first Toy Story movie. All the kids had fun taking pictures.

I found the idea for the favor bags here. I got a few things at Party City to put inside - green curly straws, Sheriff Woody badges, and mini barrel of monkeys keychains. I also threw in some blue, green, and purple Frooties and a little spiky ball.

I had fun designing tags for them.

For his banner I printed off Toy Story 3 movie posters found here and then cut out the letters and triangles on my Silhouette.

I ordered a huge Buzz balloon on Amazon and had it filled up at Party City. He loved that thing!
