Christmas Ornaments

Every year I make homemade Christmas presents for our family and close friends. This year I didn't have much time, but I wanted to continue the tradition. So I made these ornaments. They are quick and easy, but I think they are pretty.

I wanted to wrap them in treat bags. One night I walked around Walmart for about an hour because I was sure they would have them there, but I ended up going home empty handed. So I asked my friends on facebook where I could find them and I got a lot of suggestions. (Rog makes fun of facebook, but it really can be quite helpful sometimes.) I ended up getting them at Zurchers because that was close to where I was. I love how they turned out!

December Decorations

I blogged about our Christmas tree here. These are the rest of our Christmas decorations.

My December table and December "o".

I love my December plates. Sorry this is such a crappy picture.

Nativities are my favorite Christmas decorations. I love that they remind us of the reason we celebrate Christmas, Christ!

And these are my kitchen decorations. I love them too.

Christmas

Here are the highlights of our Christmas weekend.
Thursday [Little Christmas Eve]:
Packed and drove up to Salt Lake.
Took family pictures because this was the last time everyone will be together before Jared leaves on his mission. (I'll post them when we get them back, but she said it would be 2 weeks.)
Had our traditional Ririe Christmas Eve (a day early).
{Just a cute one of me and my baby!}
{Me and Jared enjoying the yummy dinner we had - ham, funeral potatoes, salad, green bean casserole, orange rolls.}

Friday [Christmas Eve]:
Double date with Diana and Jason. We got Nielsen's Frozen Custard (Jason's favorite) and then the girls saw How Do You Know and the guys saw The Tourist.
Had a delicious dinner with the Fords.
Put Corby to bed.
{Check out his cute Christmas pajamas from his Grandma Lori.}

The adults opened presents. Rog and my parents got me an iPhone (3GS)!

{This is me opening the box. Inside was a clue that sent me on a scavenger hunt around the house to find the actual phone.}

Saturday [Christmas]:
Rog got up with the Corb and let me sleep in until 10:00!
Had a delicious Christmas breakfast.
Watched Corby open his presents. (He had a little help!)
{A cute toy that suctions on his high chair tray.}
{Playing in the boxes.}
{With his Little People Nativity.}
{Corby drew my mom in our family gift exchange. He may have had a little help making this gift. I think grandma liked it.}
Met up with the Phillips clan for the evening. We had the sibling gift exchange and watched Mike and Dixie open their gifts from the kids. We got Dixie a laptop and she was pretty dang surprised and excited!
{Corby with his gift from Grandma and Grandpa Phillips - a Leap Frog.}
{Roger's grandpa made all 13 of his grandchildren a clock! Isn't it beautiful?!}
Sunday:
Went to Sacrament Meeting at my grandparent's ward.
Packed and loaded up our car. It was seriously stuffed with all our presents (mostly Corby's).
Met up with the Phillips again. Walked around inside the Grand America up in SLC. They had beautiful window displays and gingerbread houses.
Had dinner at In-N-Out.
Walked around temple square. We spent most of our time putting Corby's boots, socks, and gloves back on him after he'd get them off!
{Corb loves being on Daddy's shoulders.}
{Our family in the place Rog proposed to me 4 years ago!}
Drove back to Spanish Fork.

We had a wonderful Christmas! Though it definitely went by too fast!

Corbyn Meets Santa

Hey Santa!

I want some boxes and wrapping paper. And I guess whatever comes in those boxes would be ok too.

Now that we've got that covered, I guess we're supposed to smile for the camera.

As you can see, Corbyn wasn't too afraid of Santa. We weren't sure if we were going to take him because he was getting over being sick, but I finally decided we needed to do it. I'm glad we didn't miss out on this Christmas tradition!

Cookie Party

We had our 2nd Annual Cookie Party in two parts this year. One Sunday we had the Paulsens over and the next we had my family and the Pughs over. Both nights were a huge success!

{The Corbs helping me make cookies. I think I finally mastered Dixie's sugar cookie recipe!}

{Decorating}

{My little brother and sister showing off their creations.}

{My cute parents on their 30th anniversary!}

Rice Cereal

We were so excited to finally be able to start feeding Corby solids after his 6 month appointment. Grandma and Grandpa Ririe gave him his high chair as an early Christmas present.

At first he wasn't sure what to think...

But then he decided he was a fan.

Unfortunately a few days after this, he got a sore throat and we had a hard time getting him to eat anything at all. So solid foods got put on hold. And now he's decided that he isn't really a fan of rice cereal anymore. AiYiYi!!

6 Months

Can you believe that Corbyn is 6 months old? Umm, I definitely can't! That's like a whole half of a year!

His stats:
Weight: 17 pounds, 12 ounces (60th percentile)
Height: 27 3/4 inches (90th percentile)

His doctor said that is right where he expects him to be because well, have you met us? We aren't exactly big people. One of these days he'll drop in the height area too. For now, he's tall and skinny, super cute, and as healthy as they come.

The Corb at 6 months:

*Sits up like a champ
*Rolls every which way
*Puts EVERYTHING in his mouth
*Treats every surface like a drum
*Is working on crawling - he can't quite figure out how to go forward, but he can turn in circles and scoot all around
*Has started to laugh without being tickled
*Likes to suck on noses - we call them Corby kisses
*Can stand up by himself when holding onto the back of the couch
*Loves to play peek-a-boo
*Is tired of all his toys (Good thing Christmas is in a few days!)

All he wanted to do was eat the sign, so we finally let him have it.

The many pajamas of Corb

I was looking through recent pictures of our little Corb and I discovered I have a cute one in each of his pajamas.

These are his Christmas pajamas from his Grandma Phillips. We got him all ready for bed before we went to the Pugh Christmas party. And put on his new beanie, so he would be warm on the ride over. We call him the blur.

Next, one night we went in to check on him before we went to bed and this is what we found. Cute little bum in the air.

Finally, on Tuesday I was in the kitchen ALL DAY LONG cooking. I was taking dinner to a family in our ward that just had a baby and we were having my friend, Stacey, and her fiance over for dinner the same night. Talk about crazy! So before we even got dressed for the day, we were in the kitchen getting the rolls rising. Corby was being a little rolly polly and ended up rolling into the dishwasher and getting stuck! Before I could save him I had to grab my camera and get a picture!

So there you have it, 3 pajamas, 3 cute pictures of a Corb!
